Hi,

Do you consider Disney as a green company? Why?

the only thing i consider disney is evil...
And I know, one day we will wake up
And I know, and start to live as ourselves
And not let the cowards of history claim us
And stop pointing our fingers at everyone else

if walt himself were still alive, yes, but roy was much more of a capitalist and all the successors as well. walt disney was a visionary and a trend setter, but with his death came an end to his spirit at disney.

so the answer is no.

anyone who said water should not be brown--refering to cypress swamp water--cannot be green...so even old walt himself would not be green... ;)

BC, i see the point, but i think its important to understand that you are placing ~50 year-old modes of thinking in today's context. that is unfair.

i intentionally avoided references to actual projects or quotes, because when taken out of context would not seem green (aren't green in context either), but the point is that he was an innovator, an imaginative man, a conservationist (for his time) and a strong willed man.

disney would not be what it is today without him and with him here today wouldn't either. yes he was a man who loved his wealth (to a degree) but he understood the greater human condition and sought to bring us all together.

you'll have to excuse this native born floridian...but what he and his company did to the middle of the state does not strike me as conservation... ;)

Come on!! What are you talking about... think of all those animals in the Animal Kingdom that probably would have otherwise been shot if they were left in their original habitat. That's pure conservation right there! 8)

One of the Easiest Green Grants to get, I've heard

Postby William on Fri Jun 27, 2008 12:10 pm

Disney Grants, I was told that you do not have to lobby to hard for the $$ if its Environmental Research and Rehabilitation.
All of our local (Florida) non-prof/Eco's get this cash. They all ask for the Disney Grant, every year.

Since its inception, DWCF has contributed nearly $5 million to over 200 projects in 20 countries stretching from the Florida Keys to Kenya. A complete list of conservation programs supported by the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund can be accessed by visiting http://www.disney.go.com/disneyhand/env ... tions.html

I am not saying they are Green, they just support Green well.
