Water Conservation & Low Volume Irrigation

Postby Dripwater on Tue Sep 22, 2009 7:43 pm

I've enjoyed the "Living with Ed" show for some time now, however everything I have seen about water conservation revolves around "greywater" and rainwater. The AIR-igatorTM is a new product for low flow irrigation, taking water conservation and recycling to a new level. It captures rainwater before it falls, and does not require extensive filtration and disinfecting prior to use. Using "Not a Drop of Drinking Water", the AIR-igatorTM system waters plants, trees, and flowers. It provides mineral free, chemical free, and cost free water. It can be seen at: http://www.airigator.com

Seems like a bit much for something you could just as easily (and much more cheaply) with a rain barrel. Plus with a rain barrel, you'd get a whole lot more water. This wouldn't supply enough water to do much of anything here.

It is a good idea to do something with the condensation from an air conditioner, as it can turn where it's dripping into area that could cause your house to rot. If you catch the rain you would really have some water to work with, but where it doesn't rain any condensation is a resource. I hooked up a simple no cost system with a bucket to catch the condensation then I would dump it in the garden.
