Funny that they just did a study on black bear break-ins at Yosemite. One car below was 4x more likely to get broken into based on its relative makeup of cars in the park. What do you guess...? And why?
SUV's
small cars
trucks
vans
sports cars
coupes
station wagons
sedans
minivans

Alright, I have to guess SUV's. they are bigger, more windows to peek into, etc. I've done a lot of hiking in the Sierra Nevada, and when the rangers warn about car break-ins by hungry bears they aren't kidding. Everytime I've seen a break-in it's been a SUV, but then again that's the most common vehicle at the trailheads. But it's pretty easy just to use the bear boxes, but then again I've had more things stolen by humans than bears (especially beer; you can't put beer in a bearbox! It attracts light-fingered humans every time).

I didn't realize black bears used cars to forage.

This is all the more reason to have human land activity (other than foot-travel) within 'great-walls'.

Or fences... I really liked the ones in deer key, FL that were to protect the endangered key deer that covered the roads completely so that no wildlife larger than 2 inches could make it onto the road... also the roads were all elevated so as to not hinder wildlife's movements.
